  1. The USA doesn’t have a health care system. We have a health care *market*. Money is made from: people who are NOT sick, and denied coverage.

No one goes bankrupt in Canada from medical bills. You cannot be denied coverage because you have a pre-existing condition. They spend less per person than we do in the US and have much lower administrative costs (paperwork.) They live 2 years longer and have lower infant mortality.

Are things perfect? No. Is it better. In many ways yes.

  2. The USA already has socialized health for some people. The systems we have are comparable to foreign countries already:

The US Health Care ideas are NOT foreign

    How are systems the same?
    For Veterans Britains NHS
    For Insured Like germany
    For the retired Taiwan
Uninsured just another poor country. There are more uninsured people in the USA (47 million) than there are total people in Canada (34 million.)

  5. I luv all these people suddenly flocking to this video calling him an idiot and liar, where they provide ZERO proof as to why national healthcare is better, while he gives good points. Seriously, instead of dissing him out and calling him a liar, would you fucking INFORM us WHY exactly this video is wrong? Oh, and please use detail.

  6. what if an american citizen is dieng and he cant afford medication? do we just let him die? yea .. medicine costs money but guess what else costs money?everything even roads do. thats why we pay tax so its NOT free !if the government is giving “free” roads then why not “free” medicine?

  11. Capacity for empathy? Did you not watch this video at all?

Paying for your own health care is not about empathy. There are hundreds of charitable organizations in the US funded by the private sector for children’s hospitals and giving medical care to those who can’t afford it. That’s empathy.

  15. It is NOT to the same standard. One small example in the UK women who are being treated for ****** cancer have a 15% lower chance of survival than in US. And YOU PAY FOR YOUR HEALTHCARE TOO it just gets taxed out of your paycheck.

  17. And just because you pay for your health care doesn’t make it good. I currently live in the UK and there health care is free and it is to the same standard as America’s. You may have to wait up to an hour if it’s not life threatening. Thousands of Dollars a year vs a slight wait. Think for once.

  18. Millions of people would rather wait in line for health care than be priced out and die in the street… but people lacking the capacity for empathy will never understand what that means.

  19. You’ve got some good points, but when you described Canada’s healthcare system, I found it was a bit over the top. Yesterday, I found myself needing to get my blood taken, an xray, and an ECG on a very busy day. I got the neccessary papers, went to the hospital, and as expected, i did wait for a short period of time but for my blood test I waited 10 minutes, another 10 for the xray, and my ECG was immediately after my bloodtest. I hope you don’t take offence to this as it wasn’t intended.

  20. People 30 years ago didn’t have the same understanding of medicine we do now. Peopl 10 or even 1 year ago didn’t have the same understanding of medicine we do now. How can we be sure there were similar or even worse problems, but just not diagnosed?

  21. Excellent point, and usually the best for support of government getting in the medical business. Problem is, how do you make it happen? People have a moral responsability to help one another, but pushing people via taxes makes it a legal responsability too. We do it for the elderly and disabled, but it gets difficult when you ad more people. Also, how do you not hurt other people’s privatized health care and hurt’ing people’s income and the general economy?

  22. the guy that looks like a typical 19 yr old, undereducated schmuck, reminds me of me at that age, too bad it took so long to realise how the world works….If your 19 and conservative, you got no heart, if you are 40 and still liberal, you got no brain!

  24. He was raised in Canada. Btw, since the rest of the world is free to state their opinions about what goes on in the United States, I don’t see why you should have a problem with Steven having an opinion about Canada.

  25. Hold on, I think its important to remember that the USA and Canada are the not the only two sorts of health care systems out there…you can have a mixture of public and private…

But I think whats important to remember is not everyone CAN work or pay for everything. I’m not talking about freeloaders, of which I’m sure there are many. I’m talking about, I dunno, the single mum whose husband walked out on her, doing her best to raise her kids and one of them gets really sick
