I wouldn't know how much weight to start with, only because I don't know what you could handle. I would suggest 20 lbs. and do sets of 15 for each arm 3 times a day. Be careful, when going on a diet or working out it's healthy until you lose more then 10% of your BMI (body mass index). Also if you are serious about losing weight, work on your posture, the better it is the more calories you burn while doing cardiovascular workouts.

Don't listen to the first girl.

It's an awesome way. Just start with 5 lbs and use them with lunges and what not too..(makes it tons harder) you will see results.

After 5lbs get too hard...go to 10 lbs weights.

5 lbs in each hand...you think it's not too much...but it's good til you get used to it.

Good Luck! Enjoy the muscles and tone :)

YES! Weight training builds and firms your muscle, which burns fat more efficiently.

Good luck and be patient. Not too much too soon. Get into a habit and you wont ever want to stop!
