  1. Don`t listent to this idiot – In Canada and in the EU our systems cover the cost of Cancer Care and Aids. Because you don`t have coverage we don`t kick you to the Curb. Google mortality rates serious ilness – our survival rates are among the best. Google also OECD income tax comparison by country. Canadas Income taxes are among the lowest in the world – Not even close to the 50% number the lying and cheating Republicans claim

  2. You’re a total dipshit if you think any Insurance co. or HMO is going to help you, me or anyone with an advanced sickness — (out of the goodness of their hearts). Ever heard of PRE-EXISTING conditions?? They put PROFIT above anything else — health care is a right not a privelige to be denied by money-hungry bastards. Are you an closet insurance exec??

  3. Marco… really?? Then why did Tom Green come down to the U.S. to treat his cancer? Because it takes weeks to months to get treated. I’m sorry, but how can you be saying everything’s fine in Canada when you don’t even live there? Are you really going to trust Micheal Moore’s biased film to make your opinion on the condition of Canada’s healthcare? Try asking a Canadian how it is there. If we get universal healthcare the govt. will probably ***** it up like SS

  5. 1) Why do we need reform? Costs!

    * Americans spend more than 50% more per person than the average developed country.

    * Premiums are increasing exponentially and have doubled since 2000 and at best will continue to double every 8 years. Annual per capita costs

    * In 2008 we spent 2.4 trillion dollars on healthcare in America. If we remain on the current path, by 2018 we will spend 4.4 trillion.

  6. I’m assuming the woman is talking about adult onset diabetes.
Number 1, its caused by being a glutton for 50 years and living off KFC and never leaving your couch other than to collect your fucking welfare cheque.
Number 2, it can be alleviated by a managed diet and exercise. You can effectively cure type 2 diabetes by exercise and eating sensibly so why the **** are you asking the government to do it for you?

  7. marcostar57 when you get AIDs or cancer or maybe both at the same time you think that Universal Health Care is going to help you? No. The government doesn’t want to spend millions of dollars because you do it with monkeys. They aren’t going to help you at all. Also, if you are retired and you are sick with cancer you think the government will pay for you? No dumbass. They think in decimals and dollars and those to add with retired people.

  10. well maybe if you had a career, not some crappy telemarkinting job, or working at a fast food restraunt like mc donnalds you would have health care, and if health care worked there why do so many people come to the US for medical attention? MAKE MONEY PAY FOR IT YOURSELF, why should i pay for some fattys type 2 diabetes stuff, it just gives everyone the ability to be carefree, to rely on others.

  11. Do you live in Canada.. the UK or France? How do you know health care doesn’t work in those countries? I currently work yet have no health care …. even when I did have it it wasn’t that good. Our system here is BROKE — that’s why we need REFORM. And I don’t see Canada wanting to go to a private for profit system. Health care is a human right not a privilege. And check out Micheal Moore’s SIcko clip when he visits a Canadian hospital — no long waits!

  12. Having millions upon millions of illegal aliens and their exponential rate of multiplication will DOOM any national healthcare program. It’s already devastated our education and employment sectors, and now some idiots think that we should foot the bill for something else we can’t afford?

    - all in the name of cheap labor, might I add…
Wait, didnt the govt already have a health care program? Oh yeah, medicare. Now there is a winner. Let them try to fix elderly healthcare first, since it is govt

  13. the democrats adopted a rule called pay go in the house when they took ove in 2007 it means that every time they cut taxes or increase spending they half to raise taxes or cut spending in another so no extra money is spent makes sense right? so why would they be so opposed to the republicans proposal to raise the minimum wage while cutting they estate tax? dont worry its a retorical question

  15. Obama’s plan won’t solve the problems of healthcare costs. In fact, it will increase the costs, but subsidize them with taxpayer funds.

Keep the government out of healthcare.

  16. Obama=black communist. It is better to pay legally for health care than as bribe. The latter method is very common particularly in former socialist countries, where ( on paper) every citizen has right to health care and this causes mega-queue to doctors

  17. I hope Obama dose not get bought out by the drug an insurance companies, I like to comment some of the comments I have read some of you don’t know from your left to your right. The health care we have is already is broken. Even if you have a good job and depending on what happen to you would take you forever to pay, and why? The hospitals like to over charge you for every thing, I am pretty sure they would charge you for the slap on a baby’s but for $1k.

  18. i agree, people who are calling out to obama, yelling change 08 out on the street are people who are not being responsible, if you have a budget you will save money, and can pay for your own health insurance. jobs solve all problems. The US has the most advanced medical doctors, watch any documentry on people who have major health defects, where do they always go? well there not going to be able to come here anymore, our healthcare system will be to flawed to provide any health.

  19. you have to understand that socialized health care does not work. the waiting list would too long, do you have any idea how long it takes to see a doctor in canada, Months. Because everyone can go to the hospital for any problem, there is no limit it is all free. people need to depend on their own budget, not the government.

  20. congress passed the Cap and trade Bill its now in the Senate. If this passes welcome back high inflation and taxes from the 70’s era. Hiya Jimmy Carter (waving)

  21. in Massachusetts if you do not take health care provided for you because your uninsured .you are fined monthly by the govt’! Thats socialism! And will lead to communism

    Posted by BeantownJim | June 16, 2009, 10:44 pm
  22. I believe in universal healthcare but there should be exclusions; for example, if you’ve ever been convicted of a felony then you don’t get any coverage. Plus, the government needs to invest more money in medical scholarships and better facilities so we have adequate manpower and resources.

  23. Absolutely. Also they are bailing out the American car companies which the American consumer in a way has voted out. If your money is your voice and you spend it on Asian made cars its because the American companies chose to move over seas and raise prices on shitty cars. Letting Capitalism work would have these companies phased out and new American companies with affordable and better cars would come into play. But the government says oh okay well we will give you some money. It is a waste!

  24. I absolutely agree with you! This is America you have the right to fail or succeed, I don’t feel like working and paying out half of my taxes to capable Americans that cheat the system everyday! Government & health care bad idea…
